Abstract – School to school peer review is a strategy for evaluation and improvement and an opportunity for professional development for the personnel involved; the visiting can also be considered a form of peer review, in which the training potential from mutual observation of exchange ac-tivities situated between the personnel of a host school and those of the visited schools, is prevalent. As part of a training project aimed at developing the evaluative skills of school staff, the visiting was used to support the self-evaluation and improvement processes of the schools involved. The case study, which involved 12 schools from Lazio, Tuscany and Umbria, allows us to consider its potential as a transformative learning tool in evaluation processes among schools and collaborative training for all participants.
