The article discusses the Italian current regulation and the professional guidelines that give rise to a confused identity/role of the educator, whom professional training is marked by two separate training courses, one in Health field and the other in Education field. This situation complicates the training processes and it creates tension relating to employ these professional figures. A proposed law tries to find a solution to the situation, but the problems of coexistence and of integration between health educator and social educator are not still resolved.
