Abstract – The article concerns the growth mindset, as a construct that indicates a subjective point of view that consider the intelligence as a dynamic characteristic that can always be improved over time. The effort becomes the distinctive feature of a life path that involves committing to learning, and therefore, growing. The article, starting from a theoretical background, presents the data of a focus group with some students at the University of Foggia, where the value of didactic communication is highlighted that uses feedback as an effective strategy. Feedback, in fact, when aimed at enhancing the effort expended, rather than the qualities possessed, would seem to positively guide the development of a dynamic and reflective mindset. All this opens possible research paths that bring together guidance, the theory of feedback and the promotion of the growth mindset in higher education.
