Abstract – A large part of the prevailing discourse on educational guidance is centered around the imperative to navigate the turbulent, uncertain, and complex seas of contemporaneity. Against this backdrop, there is a celebration of certainties, that is the imperative to attempt delineating new reference points that may guide us through our ever-evolving reality, to identify safe harbors that allow us to proceed in our navigation. Overall, educational guidance actions reveal an adaptive configuration, amidst two prominent social themes, that of precariousness and temporariness closely intertwined with the issue of social inequalities. In order to grasp the quality of guidance within our educational systems, certain common threads of the ways in which education and orientation are still understood and practiced are extrapolated and explored in depth.
