Abstract – The article presents the phenomenon of school dropout that includes an increasingly group of young people, mainly minors, who drop out of school education or professional training without completing upper secondary studies. Second Chance Schools are presented as best-practice educational practices to address the issue. Particular attention is paid to the Ricomincio da Tre project, promoted by the Padua Provincial Centre for Adult Education (CPIA). The project, started in the s.y. 2016-2017, is based on a personalized approach and educational support to Early School Leavers, involving a network of school, stakeholders, associations, and communities in the territory. The project applies innovative models of teaching and learning with the aim of fostering personal and work fulfilment, as well as the development of skills and the exercise of citizenship rights.
