Abstract – The contribution reflects on the key aspects of the basic training of teachers by proposing a training proposal which, in the light of the experiences made in recent years in Italy, wants to move by proposing a virtuous integration between theory and practice, in which the experiences of laboratories and internships take on a new centrality. In the challenges that await the basic training of teachers today, in the light of yet another reform, a particular space must be reserved for the re-proposition in new forms of the relationship between educational science knowledge and disciplinary knowledge, between disciplinary teaching and didactics general, in the light of a school which, moving within the European horizon, wants to present itself as a teaching/learning context which allows each pupil, in an inclusive perspective, to acquire the key competences to become an aware and participating European citizen.
