Which directions should prefigure training courses offered to teachers who approach the teaching of civic education in schools of all levels, as required by Law 92/2019, follow? What are the most urgent challenges teachers face when training younger generations to live according to the perspective of global citizenship and to promote an authentic cultural change? The results of the research-action CIVES (Citizens Towards Sustainability) which has involved through a training course about one hundred teachers among different schools in the city of Brescia, suggest some guidelines of rethinking teachers training according to a perspective of sustainability. The essay identifies in working together, in building networks with the territory and in facing the challenge of combining, according to a transdisciplinary approach, the environment, economic progress and the common good, three drivers to promote a full human development.
