Abstract

Reconstructing the sequence of anthropic modifications on an Upper Paleolithic decorated pebble from Monte Alto (Velletri, Rome) through optical and S.E.M. microscopy

Here I present the preliminary results of microscopic analyses (optical and S.E.M. microscopy) performed on a decorated percussor-retoucher found in the Alban Hills, near Rome (Italy) and attributed to the Upper Paleolithic. The analyses allowed reconstructing the sequence of anthropic modifications on the tool.
