The paper develops a reflection on cooperative inquiry as a method to train teachers in the framework of lifelong learning. A systemic, constructivist and autobiographic approach is described with examples from a course, targeted to teachers in Mathematics and Physics. To propitiate lifelong and lifewide learning, for future teachers and their students, means to question and provoke their positioning in relationships, contexts, towards knowledge and subject matters, and to develop a theory about previous learning, professional choices, and how to cope with difficult situations.
