I vettori nell’insegnamento della matematica nella Scuola secondaria di II grado

This work proposes that the teaching of mathematics in senior secondary schools would be enhanced by inclusion of calculus vectors, as was recently suggested in the 2010 National Proposals for the Grammar School (Indicazioni nazionali per i Licei). It is believed that this theme should not be limited to the Physics curriculum, since it may be used to advantage as a possibility to highlight their various mathematical aspects. Of particular importance in a teaching sequence like the one suggested is the introduction of examples and problems which, starting from those proposed, allow the student to understand the potential of the vector method not only for practical applications but also when dealing with theoretical arguments.
