In primary school, evaluation is taking problematic traits: it is not uncommon to observe children expressing uneasiness as a result of positive grades, but that parents deem inadequate. This contribution stems from a recent PhD research, which identifies a series of parenting wishes about their children, that in everyday life are expressed in diversified educational practices, for achieve the excellent school results hoped for. It’s therefore a matter of rethinking the evaluation, offering margins for a change, that implies parental training in the school-family system. Starting from an overview of the family, parenthood and evaluation, the question is how to promote and provide moments of reflection for parents and their role, which put they in search of the implicit meanings in their desires about their own representations of evaluation, not leaving out a confident and collaborative dialogue with teachers.
